Belonging, Becoming, Believing and Be-Loving: Reflections on a Spiritual Home by Guest Speaker Tom Lottman

Well-being is a process of keeping in balance some basic human needs of belonging, becoming, believing and be-loving. This presentation will explore these drivers in our lives and how an imbalance or distortion in these forces can impair a sense of well-being. Then we will suggest how a spiritual home, especially a UU congregation, can help us meet these needs and keep them in balance.

Tom Lottman is a forty year UU who struggles to make the seven principles a driving force in life. Tom is the Senior Director of the Innovation Lab at Learning Grove. His recent chapter in the international anthology, Positive Psychology Interventions in Practice, presents strategies for teachers and parents to bring mindfulness and character strengths to the classroom and home.
