On June 20th, Jen Gillum will briefly discuss Melinda French Gates’ book The Moment of Lift: How Empowering Women Changes the World. Jen’s dear friend (and Harmony guest speaker) Jody O’Dell will then share some of her experiences working as a Peace Corps volunteer from 2014-2016 in Swaziland (now Eswatini), Africa. In discussion, we can unpack the notion of true empowerment and how more moments of “lift” might be mined within our own communities/circles.
